Supervised Teaching and CPD

Level 3: Supervised Teaching and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Advanced Mindfulness and Compassion Teacher Training

Level 3 is the final stage of the Advanced Mindfulness-Based Compassion Teacher Training qualification. It is designed to consolidate your learning and support you in developing confidence, skill, and authenticity as a mindfulness and compassion teacher.

This stage is entirely practice-based and highly individualised. Rather than being an academic course, it offers a personalised and experiential approach, tailored to your development needs as a teacher.

Supervised Teaching

During your Level 3 training, you will receive close supervision and mentoring as you put your learning into practice. Under supervision, you will:

  • Co-teach two 8-week programmes – one in Mindfulness and one in Compassion – with the opportunity to gain direct teaching experience in a supported environment.

  • Co-facilitate a mindfulness retreat, deepening your understanding of holding group space and guiding extended practice.

  • Run two informal peer support sessions, creating a space for shared reflection and professional connection.
All of these elements are arranged and supported by the College, ensuring that you are guided every step of the way.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

In addition to your supervised teaching, you will complete two further attendance-based CPD days. These days are tailored to your personal and professional development needs, allowing you to explore specific areas of interest or deepen aspects of your teaching practice.

Reflective Practice

Throughout Level 3, you will also submit a series of reflective practice journals. These reflections are an important part of the process, helping you integrate your experiences and develop your own authentic teaching voice. You will receive clear guidance and individual feedback to support this reflective work.

A Supportive, Practice-Led Approach

Level 3 represents the transition from trainee to confident, capable mindfulness and compassion teacher. With a focus on real-world teaching, reflective growth, and ongoing supervision, this stage supports you in establishing sustainable, ethical, and compassionate teaching practice.

Further Opportunities – The Trainer Pathway

A limited opportunity may exist for graduates of the learning pathway to then go on to become a trainer and train others how to teach. There are currently opprtunities available to train in certain areas, throughout Europe and beyond, either on an employed or self-employed, licenced basis. The 2026 Trainer Pathway is flexible to meet individual’s needs, meaning that attendance can be planned on courses/dates that suit you throughout the twelve months, rather than you having to fit into preordained dates. Please contact college to find out more about becoming a UK College trainer.
